BETBY’s Euro 2020 in numbers!

BETBY has revealed the scope of its European Championships performance following the conclusion of the tournament.

Showcasing the performance of punters in an infographic that focuses on five key factors, BETBY is able to bring new insight to player behaviour over what was one of the most electrifying football tournaments in recent memory.

The delayed iteration of the European Championships saw 31% more active players and 41% more turnover than usual, compared to recent tournaments, with the heightened popularity shining through in a competition filled with drama and unexpected turns.

The most popular figure in the betting market was rather unsurprisingly, Cristiano Ronaldo, with the Golden Boot winner attracting over 20% of bets in that market, ahead of France’s Kylian Mbappe.

The highest single bet for a player was at odds of 184/1, where the lucky bettor combined a bet on corners for the quarter final clashes between Belgium v Italy and Switzerland v Spain. Several other players achieved impressive wins of more than 100/1.

The European Championships also saw one bettor make an incredible 269 bets on Italy, comfortably the most by any player on a single team, as the Azzurri triumphed in the end, lifting the trophy after a tense final against a strong England outfit.

The good times didn’t stop there for bettors, with one lucky punter winning 29 consecutive bets in a row as they forged a successful tournament for themselves.

However, not every game had a positive outcome, with Denmark v Finland in the group stage seeing 87% of bets lost, and England’s 0-0 draw with Scotland seeing 86% of players nursing a losing ticket.
